Its small theatrical feature situations have in common derision, the absurdity of the situation and a humanoid humor that sometimes recalls Eugène Ionesco and his theater of the absurd. He has been represented in numerous international exhibitions and on photo-festivals and fairs in Europe. This year, in honour of his eightieth birthday, Postcart edizioni and Filigranes  published a retrospective of his work in the photo-book Mister G..

DUSHA

Félix Nadar

Félix Nadar was the pseudonym of Gaspard-Félix Tournachon (6 April 1820 – 21 March 1910), a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist and balloonist. Nadar opened his first photography studio in 1854, but he only practiced for six years. He focused on the psychological elements of photography, aiming to reveal the moral personalities of his sitters rather than make attractive portraits. Bust- or half-length poses, solid backdrops, dramatic lighting, fine sculpturing, and concentration on the face were trademarks of his studio. His use of eight-by-ten-inch glass-plate negatives, which were significantly larger than the popular sizes of daguerreotypes, acccentuated those effects.

il tempo di un caffÈ

Angelo Paionni

The author wanted to dedicate to the city of Rome his images, featured by an almost old taste, but, more importantly, he wanted to take those 'magical atmosphere' which recalls  unchanging elements, expressions of places, of  history and of ancient culture of Rome.

Chris Rain

Chris Rain was born in Rome where he currently lives. He is a visual artist who since the inception of his artistic career has been recurring to different media, i.e. music, photography, each used with its proper uniqueness.
He is a self-taught artist who seeks to avoid any categorization or cliché. In his opinion the photographic practice is just a way to achieve self-expression by means of truth's manipulation. Unawareness, past's reminiscences, desires are the pivotal issues on which is focused his research as artist.
